Whoa! Did anyone see that game last night? Adam Henrique with the beauty top cheddar goal! And what a ‘stache! Is Brodeur going to get to hoist the cup a 4th time? Have they finally punctured a hole in the king’s armour? Do you smell a movie deal? Conn Smythe candidates?

Well before I get to what you’re really here to read let me briefly introduce myself. My name is Chilelli, Nicholas Chilelli, yea I know it doesn’t sound as good as when James Bond introduces himself, but what are you going to do? I’m Italian, most people probably don’t even know how to pronounce my name! By the way it’s pronounced (Chi-lel-yi) Forget about it! And now I will get to what you’re really here for!

Last night was June 6th 2012, a night that could be remembered by hockey fans for years to come, no matter how many times you try to drink it away. New Jersey won their first game of the series with Los Angeles making the series 3-1 in favour of the Kings. This night is so memorable because it’s the first time that the Devils scored more than one goal on Jonathan Quick in this series; one being a sloppy rebound and the other going high blocker side and beating Quick at his own game.

Now they go back to New Jersey to play on Saturday, and with the Devils winning last night, they have the momentum going forward and could potentially make the series 3-2 before the weekend is over. The Devils have also found a weak point in the Kings’ armour to be exploited, and what I mean by armour is Quick’s record setting playoff performance. But if you’re some kind of time traveler from the future reading this then you already know what’s going to happen, so don’t spoil it for the rest of us!

I know what you’re all thinking, “You’re a bit nuts! And the Kings are perfect on the road!” Well you may be right but let’s break this down. Both wins in New Jersey the Kings got were hard overtime wins, which is the same amount of overtimes they went to in the first three series’. And it happened after a hell in back series that the Devils just had with New York. But now since New Jersey has the momentum going into their home game and with Brodeur’s nerves of steel which the other players have probably caught a whiff of, they should be able to capture their second win. If they do, it’s a whole different series.

Whatever happens in this series it is going down in history as either the Kings being one of the best playoff teams if not the best in NHL history or the massive underdogs New Jersey Devils coming back from a 3-0 deficit and winning the cup.

Now this blog wouldn’t be as fun if I didn’t get some of your ideas! So I got a big question for you guys!  If the Kings win the cup, who gets the Conn Smythe trophy? And vice versa for the Devils?

Personally I think that it’s hands down going to a goalie, either Quick with LA or Brodeur with New Jersey or will the trophy go the route of the 2003 playoffs where Jean Sebastien Giguere won the trophy even though the Anaheim Ducks (the team he played for at that time) lost in the finals to the New Jersey Devils. Quick having a .948 save percentage and Brodeur having a .921 personally I don’t see it happening. But if you think I’m terribly wrong on everything send me your opinion and I will try to respond to all of you. You can reach me @FanXchange on Twitter or our Facebook page.
